Preseason Preview: Delaware County Christian School (District 1)

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

The overall record in 2012 was not what they wanted (7-13), but a 6-6 conference record and a 4th place finish is something the Delaware County Christian Knights can build on in 2013. Head Coach Jeff Wisnewski feels like his team should be able to score some runs, but fears that the depth of his pitching staff may be a bit thin. The Knights return five starters from last year's roster and two pitchers who have seen significant varsity action. Following is a look at the players Wisnewski feels will need to make contributions in order for the season to be a success.

Class of 2013

  • IF/OF Mike Kyne - a right-handed hitter who has clubbed six home runs the past two years. Kyne hit .429 in 2012 with 24 RBI, 20 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.
  • OF Eric Driscoll - leader in the outfield who has great range. Driscoll hit .317 a year ago with 25 runs and 19 stolen bases.
  • RHP/OF Brad Warmhold - control pitcher who will need to eat a lot of innings on a young pitching staff. Warmhold went 1-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 2012.

Class of 2014

  • C/1B/3B D.L. Browne - hit .386 in 2012 with 11 RBI and eight stolen bases.
