Preseason Preview: The Hill School (Mid-Atlantic Prep League)

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

The Hill School went 12-7 in 2012 finishing in 2nd place in the MAPL. The Rams will return six starters from a year ago and six pitchers with varsity experience. Coach Chris Drowne feels that pitching, defense and speed will be team strengths in the new season while depth could be the team's main weakness. Following is a look at the members of the Rams senior class who are likely to make an impact on a run to a MAPL title.

Class of 2013

  • C Adam Regensburg - left-handed hitter was named 1st Team All-MAPL in 2012.
  • LHP/OF Seth Regensburg - One of six returning pitchers. Regensburg was a 1st Team All-MAPL selection in 2012.
  • OF Joey Monzo - Named Honorable-Mention MAPL last season.
  • INF Drew DeAngelis - Right-handed hitter who was named 1st Team All-MAPL a year ago.
  • INF Kyushik Nam - solid defender who can play multiple positions.
  • RHP/IF Evan Dumont-Lapoint - will supply innings for a deep Rams pitching staff.

The Rams will be senior heavy and will look for underclassmen to make contributions as the season unfolds. Drowne lists a number of players who will fight for innings and a chance to make an impact on the Rams success.

  • INF/OF Luc Luttmann (2014) & INF/DH Quin Butler (2014)
  • INF/OF/RHP Bryan Delp (2015)
  • OF Jeremy Jacobs (2016) & C Nick Chruscinski (2016)
