Super 60: Stats Posted

With more than 120 scouts in attendance, the 14th Annual Super 60 Pro Showcase delivered many highlights by prospects from 19 different states on Sunday, Feb. 7 at The Max in McCook, IL. Throughout the coming weeks we will produce content highlighting the top performers, the biggest risers and much more from the event, but today we take a quick look at the best statistical performances, which includes two event records..

Although statistics only paint a partial picture of how well a player performed, these numbers are pretty telling for early February:

Top 60 Times

INF/OF Nolan Williams (Turner HS, KS) headlined 18 position players who ran sub-7 60s with a 6.58. Not for behind Williams were OF Trevyne Carter (Soddy Daisy HS, TN) and OF Zachary Watson (West Ouachita HS, LA), running 6.61 and 6.62 laser-timed 60s:

Top Fastball Velocity

RHP Brenden Heiss (Jacobs HS, IL) eclipsed the Super 60 record when his first fastball registered at 96 mph. and he proceeded to sit 93-94 throughout his bullpen. Trailing Heiss was RHP Cal Coughlin (Lake Forest HS, IL) at 94, and four pitchers who touched 93. In all, 20 of the 27 pitchers touched at least 90, and all but one was 88-plus:

Top Exit Velocity

OF/3B Matthew Gorski (Hamilton Southeastern HS, IN) was one of the biggest winners at the event, partially because few knew about the athletic 6-foot-4, 190-pound athlete outside of Indiana. Gorski turned heads in many facets, especially by delivering a Super 60 record 106 exit velocity, while also running a 6.67 and throwing 89 mph from both the outfield and infield. 1B Brayden Combs (Beechwood HS, KY), C Ben Rortvedt (Verona Area HS, WI) and OF Quin Cotton (Regis Jesuit HS, CO) all registered triple-digits velocity:

The state of Wisconsin dominated the top of the outfield board, with Joe Acker (Marquette University HS, WI), Dominic Clementi (Arrowhead HS) and Cyrillo Watson (South Milwaukee HS, WI) leading the way:

The crop of catchers created quite the buzz coming in, and most delivered the goods. Cooper Johnson (Carmel Catholic HS, IL), Rortvedt (Verona Area HS, WI), Sam Ferri (Niles Notre Dame HS, IL) and Maverick Handley (Mullen HS, CO) all delivered sub- 1.90 pop times:
