Today's Schedule Full of Intriguing Matchups

Winter appears to have made a final departure and summer-like temperatures have arrived. With the improved weather comes a full slate of big games on today's schedule. Following is a look at some of the matchups that should provide high drama today.

+ #1 Hempfield moved to the top spot in the rankings, lost West Virginia recruit Shaun Corso to injury and dropped a 3-2 decision to Manheim Township all on Monday. Today the Black Knights (6-2) will attempt to get back to their winning ways with a game at home against Warwick.

+ #2 Bethel Park looks to potentially take over the top spot in the PBR rankings, but will have to get by Mt. Lebanon first. The Blue Devils lost in last year's WPIAL championship and could pose a serious challenge to the Blackhawks.

+ #7 Hopewell and Blackhawk matched up in a season long race for the WPIAL section title in 2012. Along the way, the Vikings handed LHP Brendan McKay his only regular season loss of the season (2-0). The 2013 version of this rivalry will begin today at Hopewell.

+ Seneca Valley, the 2012 WPIAL AAAA Champions host #17 North Allegheny for a pivotal early season game with the Tigers. A host of college recruits and highly ranked prospects will do battle under the lights in this one.

+ #16 Malvern Prep will look to build off of yesterday's Inter AC-League win over Springside-Chestnut Hill when they travel to St Joseph's Prep. The Hawks could potentially pose a problem for Malvern Prep, having already knocked off La Salle HS earlier in the season.

+ #20 Neumann-Goretti travels to Archbishop Wood for a Philadelphia Catholic League game. The same two teams played at NG on Monday with Wood falling by an 8-5 score.
