Top Corner Infielders Scheduled to Perform at the Preseason All-State Showcase

PocrassA total of 27 corner infielders will be on display at the Preseason All-State Showcase on February 23 at B2B Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. Following is a small sampling of the talented prospects who will be attempting to earn the Top Prospect honor for corner infielders in attendance.

Class of 2014:

3B/1B Jordan Pocrass, Lower Moreland HS
Pocrass is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound 3B/1B from Lower Moreland HS. He is coming off of a standout sophomore season in which he hit .500, scored 23 runs and had 27 RBI. For his play, Pocrass was selected to the All-Bicentennial League First-Team at first base. Pocrass finished his sophomore season in the top ten in several offensive categories in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including batting average. He is currently ranked No. 17 in the PA Class of 2014 and No. 118 in the PBR combined rankings.

C/3B Drew Landis, Red Lion Area HS
Landis is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound prospect who hit .326 in 2012. He has solid size and the potential to play two positions at the next level. Landis is currently ranked No. 19 in the PA Class of 2014.

3B/RHP Jamie Switalski, Pine Richland HS
Switalski is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect who was a member of Team Pennsylvania at the 2012 Midwest Future Games. Switalski has raw power and an 88 mph bat exit velocity. He has shown a strong arm across the infield at 84 mph. Switalski is currently ranked No. 43 in the PA Class of 2014.

1B/3B Sam Vilk, Mentor HS (OH)
Vilk made the trip from Mentor, OH to showcase his abilities and walked away as the top prospect in attendance at the Western PA Open ID Showcase in January. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound left-handed hitter showcased the top bat exit velocity of the day at 88 mph. Vilk showed the potential to be a middle of the order run producer at the next level. He showed athletic actions and good footwork at first base with the top infield arm of the event at 86 mph. Vilk is currently ranked No. 99 in the Ohio Class of 2014 rankings.

Class of 2015:

RHP/3B Ben Dum, West Perry HS
Dum had an outstanding freshman season for his West Perry HS team leading them to a 20 win season. He tossed a no-hitter and the bulk of his team's innings on the mound. The 6-foot, 170-pound left-handed hitting prospect is currently ranked No. 22 in the PA Class of 2015.
