Top Stories of 2014: #3 - Depth of 2015 Class Shown in Early Signing Period

By Jacob Gill
Philadelphia Region Director of Scouting

The 2015 class in Pennsylvania is one of the deepest in recent memory. Our sortable commitment database has 119 players committed to Division I baseball programs, with another 120+ committed to Division II, Division III, NAIA, and junior college programs. This list is unofficial and a constant work-in-progress. We learn about additional commitments on what seems like a daily basis, while programs at all levels of college baseball will continue their recruiting through the spring.

Earlier this month, we did a by-the-numbers breakdown of the Early Signing Period. Highlights include:

  • 18 different Division I conferences and 61 Division I programs have signed at least one Pennsylvania class of 2015 player.
  • The Atlantic-10 tops the list of conferences with the most Pennsylvania commitments, led by La Salle's eight and George Mason's six.
  • PAISAA tournament champ Malvern Prep and PIAA class AAAA semifinalist Spring-Ford pace in-state high schools with five Division I commitments apiece.
  • Ten Division II programs received at least three commitments each from players around the state.

As you peruse the database, should we be missing a reciprocal commitment between a player and a college program, please do not hesitate to contact us via Twitter, Facebook, or e-mail.
