Top Stories of 2016: #4 - PA Products Compete for USA Baseball National Teams

William Penn Charter OF/LHP Mike Siani competed for the 18U National Team, which won the gold medal at the COPABE Pan Am "AAA" Championships in Monterrey, Mexico. The top-ranked player in PBR Pennsylvania's class of 2018 rankings was one of only three players on the 20-man roster to hail from north of the Mason-Dixon Line (12 of 20 came from Florida and California).

2021 IF/RHP Nicholas Bitsko (an 8th grader who plans to attend Central Bucks East and who verbally committed to Virginia earlier this year) and Archbishop Carroll 2020 IF/RHP Max Hitman represented the 14U National Team Development Program at the week-long COPABE Youth Pan American Tournament in Panama in July. Montoursville Area 2020 LHP/OF Logan Ott also participated in the 14U NTDP program, spending a week at the USA Baseball National Training Center participating in skill development sessions, intrasquads, and scrimmages against the 15U National Team.

Former Blackhawk star Brendan McKay, now a junior all-American LHP/1B at Louisville, continued his standout dual contributions, this time for the Collegiate National Team. McKay led the team with a .326 batting average and .434 on-base percentage, while also going 2-1 with a 1.35 ERA and .140 opponents' batting average in 13.1 innings pitched.
