By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

The updated Class of 2016 rankings have been released in advance of the start of the high school season that begins next month. Rankings will be updated next in June following the PA Top Prospect Games and the PA Underclass Games.

The top four players in the class have all made early Division I commitments. 1B/LHP Alex Kirilloff (Liberty), LHP/OF J.J. Bleday (Vanderbilt), C/3B Jake Jessell (Pitt) and RHP Max Kranick (Virginia) continue to hold down the top four spots.

Rounding out the top five is C/OF Kenny Bergmann (William Penn Charter), who jumps four spots from his previous No. 9 ranking. The 6-foot, 195-pound sophomore impressed at the Preseason All-State Showcase with a 91 mph arm from the outfield, 79 mph arm out of the crouch and a 91 mph bat exit velocity.

Also making a substantial jump is RHP Bailey Ishler (State College). The 6-foot-1, 180-pound righty jumped 33 spots to No. 27 in the current rankings with an impressive performance of his own at the Preseason All-State Showcase. Ishler sat 84-85 with a unique delivery and a closer's mentality on the mound.
