2017 Stock Report: 6 Fast-Rising Uncommitted Middle Infielders

The updated and expanded overall 2017 rankings were released last week. Much has changed since the last revision, which is reflected in the considerable shakeups in the Top 300 list. While many names have been mainstays in the 2017 rankings, there are plenty of new prospects added to the list.
Here’s a look a six previously under-the-radar uncommitted 2017 middle infielders who emerged over the summer:
Mark Vierling, SS, Christian Brothers College HS, MO
Overall Rank: 77
Scouting Report: The younger brother of Matt Vierling, the top-ranked prospect in Missouri’s 2015 class (now at Notre Dame), Mark led Team Missouri at the Future Games by going 5-for-8 that included two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and two walks in three games. He uses a leg kick in his load and consistently drives the ball to his pull-side gap. On defense, the 6-foot, 170-pounder has smooth footwork and soft hands. He has range and the ability to make all plays. He ran a 6.99-second 60 and was clocked at 88 mph across the infield with a 93-mph exit velocity.
