Central Illinois Open: Top Overall Prospects

Over the past week we rolled out our positional analysis for the Central Illinois Open held at The Corn Crib in Normal, IL.  Following the event the PBR scouting staff compiled all of the notes from the workout and over the past week we broke down the event position by position.

Today we conclude the analysis from the event with the top overall prospects.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Miles Simington, OF, Normal Community, 2017

Currently ranked No. 32 in the Illinois 2017 class. Strong framed 5-foot-9, 195-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively has a short, quick arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws with carry throwing 82 mph from the outfield. Athletic actions, playing thru the ball with a quick, clean exchange and fluid footwork. At the plate hits from an open stance with a short stride and good balance. Gap to gap hitter with a short, uphill swing path, stays compact. Fluid rhythm with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 94 mph exit velocity from a tee. One of the top uncommitted prospects in the Illinois 2017 class.
