No. 1 Brother Rice 7, St. Xavier (Ky.) 5
Mike Bolton’s
RBI double in the top of the sixth broke a 5-5 tie as the Crusaders rallied to win at St. Xavier in Louisville. Ryan Kutt struck out five in three perfect innings to pick up the victory in relief. Bolton doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice. Kutt, Jack Guzek, Ryan King and Danny Doligate had two hits apiece for Rice.

No. 2 Plainfield South 12, Ottawa 1

No. 4 St. Charles North 7, Pinkerington North 3
Brenden Norberg
and Conor Bizik drove in two runs apiece for the North Stars, who eruped for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to break open a scoreless tie.

No. 9 O’Fallon 1, Savannah Christian (Ga.) 0
Logan Boente
pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk for O’Fallon. Quinn Lowery’s RBI double in the fifth inning was the difference.

No. 9 O’Fallon 3, Cullman (Ala.) 1
Heath Zuber
allowed a run on four hits in six innings and Jordan Richardson gave O’Fallon the lead for good with a two-run double in the top of the first.
