Fall Prospect Program North Week 2 Sneak Peak - Top Performers and Pitcher Velocities

Sunday kicked off week 2 of PBR Ohio’s Fall Prospect Program at Oberlin College.  Many young high school prospects showed off their talent on Oberlin's newly turfed baseball field. An extremely wide range of ages attended the prospect program, as the class of 2015, 16’, 17’ and 18’ were represented. Many players impressed during their game and workout, and will defintely be worth keeping an eye for weeks to come.

Below are the top performers along with pitcher velocities for each team.

Top Performers Team 1:

Diaz Saunderson had a strong day at the plate grabbing two extra base hits.  Saunderson also recorded on the top exit velocities on the day hitting 90 mph.  

Top Performers Team 2:

2015 Rees Rua opened some eyes on Sunday at Oberlin.  The switch hitting outfielder had one of the top BP rounds on the day showing consistent linedrive ability to all fields.  He also stroked a triple into the right center gap.

Top Performers Team 3:

Two-way prospect Jonathan Helmick made some noise on sunday, showing both well on the mound and at the plate.  Helmick sat 80-84 with an 11/5 curveball that sat between 68-70 mph.  The right handed hitter had one of the top exit velocities hitting 88 mph.  

Top Performers Team 4:

Walsh Jesuit product, Brendan Regan showed well through the workout and game.  Getting time at second base, Regan displayed excellent footwork and good range up the middle for a young 2017 prospect.
