Shocker of the Day

Hersey (2-6-1, 1-0 Mid-Suburban East) surprised Prospect (10-3, 0-1 Mid-Suburban East), as the Huskies scored six times in the top of the sixth, to erase a 7-3 Knight lead and win going away 11-7
. Will Trossen led the Huskie attack with four hits, including a double and drove home two. Nick Zouras and Dan Wolf both had two hits, including a double and plated two Huskie runs.

POWER 25

No. 1 St. Rita (17-0, 1-0 Catholic League Blue) defeated De La Salle 4-2 behind Matt Lenzen. Lenzen (3-0) fired a five-hitter at De La Salle (5-6, 2-1 Catholic White) with seven strikeouts. Lenzen allowed one earned run. Marty Bechina went deep for the second time this season and Anthony Faron singled and plated a run to lead the Mustang attack.

No. 3 Mount Carmel (11-1, 1-0 Catholic Blue) scored 11 times in the third inning and went on to an 18-8 victory over Fenwick.  Nick Wheeler went 3-for-3 with eight RBI to lead the Caravan attack. Wheeler fell a bomb shy of hitting for the cycle. Ako Thomas launched a bomb that left the premises at Haggerty Field and plated three Caravan runs.  Fenwick (7-2, 1-1 Catholic White) hit five home runs off of Caravan ace and winning pitcher, Nelson Munoz (4-0) who went the distance for Mount Carmel. Casey O’Laughlin led the Friar attack with two homers and four RBI, while Jack Hendricks, Mike Neill and Justin Rodriguez, all homered for Fenwick.
