No. 1 St. Rita 7, Gordon Tech 0
St. Rita (17-0; 2-0) used a trio of pitchers to no-hit the Rams at St. Rita on Wednesday. Junior RHP Tyler Halas, senior RHP  Jake Shepski and junior Sean Jaycox pulled off the combined no-no for the top-ranked team in the state. Halas (5-0) fired 3.2 hitless innings while Shepski went 2.1 innings of hitless ball with six punchouts, and Jaycox fired a hitless seventh to complete the pitching masterpiece.Sophomore Danny Gleaves singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove one home to lead the Mustang attack. Senior Nate Soria and junior Marty Bechina each had a single and an RBI for the Mustangs. Gordon Tech falls to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in CCL-White play. STAT NOTE: St. Rita’s junior RHP Tyler Halas is 5-0 with a 0.88 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.Gordon Tech far.

Wheaton Warrenville South 6, Wheaton North 4
Wheaton Warrenville South (3-3; 1-0) defeated its city-rivals from North in the DVC opener for both clubs. The Tigers were led by Justin Kelly, who doubled, tripled and drove home three Tiger runs, Baylor Holmes and Connor Ostrander both added two singles and two RBI to the WWS attack. Tiger starting and winning pitcher Brett Struebing fired a seven-hitter at the Falcons.

Sandburg (8-3; 1-0) scored six times in the sixth inning to erase a 1-0 HF lead and cruised in its SWSC-Blue opener. Senior Chris Stearns fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle and drove home three Eagle runs while senior Julian Gutierrez  also went deep for the Eagles and plated three runs. Senior Mike Jentel chipped in with a single and homer for Sandburg. University of Louisville-bound RHP Sean Leland allowed an unearned run and four hits in his stellar six-inning stint to pick up the win. Leland (2-1) had seven strikeouts.
