No. 1 St. Laurence 18, St. Ignatius 2
Johnny Peterson
went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Gage Olszak hit a three-run homer to power St. Laurence’s 17-hit attack. Brian Lyle went 3-for-4 and scored four runs in the victory.

No. 2 Mundelein 6, Hononegah 0
Steve Sanchez
pitched four hitless innings, striking out eight and walking two, for the Mustangs. Drew Breitenreiter went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Andrew Beres added two hits in the victory.

South Elgin 3, No. 3 St. Charles North 2
Adam Walker’s
two-run double in the top of the seventh was the big blow as the Storm pulled off the upset. Nate Gomez allowed four hits in six innings while striking out eight and walking three to earn the victory, and Jack Stanci pitched out of trouble in the bottom of the seventh for the save. Bryant Diel went 3-for-4 for South Elgin.

No. 5 Brother Rice 9, Bishop McNamara 1
Joe Payton
struck out eight in five innings of two-hit ball for the Crusaders. Ryan King had two hits and two RBI in the victory.
