BAJENSKI FINALS
Fifth Place: No. 16 Oak Park (25-6) defeated Andrean 3-1 to take home fifth place in the Bajenski tournament. No information was available from the winning Huskies.
Seventh Place: Marist (22-13) smashed Marian Catholic 9-2 behind Zach Sefcik and John Carmody. Sefcik had two hits including a double and drove home three Redhawk runs. Carmody chipped in with a double and had two RBI.
Ninth Place No. 8 Brother Rice (25-10) blanked Montini 9-0 behind Tom Przekwas and Ryan Kutt. Przekwas fired six shutout innings at the Broncos scattering eight hits to improve to 5-0 on the season. Ryan Kutt led the Crusader offense with a perfect 3-for-3 day with two doubles and four RBI.
CLASS 2A REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
COAL CITY
In a battle of Interstate 8 Conference Division champions, I-8 South champ Herscher (25-13) pounded I-8 North winner Coal City 18-6 for the regional crown. Tyler Fisher led the Tiger attack with four hits including three doubles and drove home five runs. Brady Hansen added two hits including a double and drove home three runs for the I-8 South and Coal City regional champs.
