Nolan Unger doubled home the tying run and scored on an error as Grant rallied for two in the top of the seventh. Logan Lewis had two hits and two RBI in the victory. Zach Willis had two hits and two RBI for Cary-Grove.
Providence 4, Stagg 3
Dylan Gorski had three hits, including an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh as the three-time defending Class 4A champs rallied to avoid early elimination. Steven Meyer tripled home the tying run in the sixth for Providence. Ethan Petric pitched two perfect innings to win in relief.
Fremd 5, Stevenson 4
Luke Seidel’s two-run triple in the top of the seventh supplied the Vikings with the tying and go-ahead runs. Eric Bennes allowed two earned runs on seven hits while striking out nine in the complete-game victory. Fremd trailed 3-0 before Will McCabe delivered a two-run double in the fourth.
