Indiana Insider: 2018 Rankings; Indiana Analysis

By Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

The updated PBR overall rankings for the 2018 class were released yesterday. The updated Top 300 list is comprised of our current 30-state coverage area.

The overall rankings in each class continues to expand, making it more and more difficult for prospects to hold their spot, however, the Hoosier State continues to hold its own with 20 players in the Top 300; including one in the Top 10, four in the Top 50 and 11 players in the Top 100.

Top 10

Indiana's No. 1 ranked player in the 2018 class, Jacob Sweeney, landed in the Top 10 of the recently updated 2018 rankings at No. 9.  Sweeney was arguably the biggest winner at this summer's PBR Future Games.  At 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, he's a highly projectable left-hander with lots of upside.  At the Future Games against Team Kentucky he sat 86-88 with his fastball.  Sweeney is currently uncommitted, but has received high interest from numerous D1 programs across the country.
