There’s a line in the early 1980s classic “On The Road Again” that goes “Goin’ places that I’ve never been/Seein’ things that I may never see again.” Like Willie Nelson, I can’t wait to get on the road again—to potentially experience those lyrics in the life I love, which is watching baseball.
For any baseball fan, winter is harsh, unless you’re fortunate enough to live in places like Florida or Southern California. This winter was especially cold for much of the country and it wreaked havoc on the start of the college season. I didn’t see a game until the fourth weekend. The high school season just opened in North Carolina, but the game I tried to go see got moved and I missed it. I’m going to start making up for all of that on Sunday, March 15.
