Michigan Scouting Director and Michigan Editor in Chief

The NCAA early signing period started November 11th, 2015 and ended on the 18th. With the fall signing period now behind us, Jake Sabol, the director of scouting for PBR Michigan, breaks down the top recruiting classes based on in-state prospects. Beyond the surface, we drill down deeper into immediate impact players, sleepers in the class, and other behind the scenes information that went into a player choosing their college program.

Last week, the Division 1 programs in Michigan were revealed and discussed. We also went over the Division 2 programs in the mitten state as well.

If you are a senior, it isn't too late. College programs are still looking. Make sure you check out the list of remaining events this winter by clicking here.

The 2015 College World Series Champions have made their way into the great state of Michigan to look for a backstop to anchor their dominant pitching staff for years to come. Gull Lake’s Drew Blakely has the chance to be a special player. The number 2 ranked player in the state of Michigan and his 6-2, 175-pound frame gives him a solid base for staying behind the plate. He has clean arm action and will consistently pop around a 2.00. His bat explodes through the zone after he uses a smooth, easy load. He is willing to use the whole field and go the other way, but does favor the pull side with occasional pop. Drew also has a quick arm off the mound, using an 87-88 mph fastball that leaves us to wonder if he will get opportunities to be a two-way guy in the ACC.
