When we last left Coloradans Jake Eissler and Tommy Gillman the past spring, they were playing in their senior seasons for ThunderRidge and Columbine, respectively. Then they were competing for the same Slammers team, an extremely talented group, last summer.
Fast forward to this weekend. Both are freshman and on the final eight rosters for this weekend’s opening of the College World Series in Omaha. Eissler will be with TCU, which will be taking on Florida on Sunday, 5 p.m. (Mountain Time), in Game 4 of the Series that is under a double-elimination format, and Gillman will be with Texas A&M, slated to meet Louisville on Sunday, noon, on Game 3.
