New England Insider: Top 2017 Uncommitted Pitchers
With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position.
Today we are starting with the top uncommitted senior pitchers in the New England Region. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week, as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine Top Uncommitted Pitchers:
Right-Handed Pitchers
Name: Dario Tarquinio
Rank: 15th in PBR New England Class of 2017
Scouting Report: Right-hander who continues to impress at our events. Pitches out of a slightly higher than ¾ slot. The bottom half direction is good, and the top half has come glove side pull off to it. The fastball was up to 87 mph and explodes out of his hands at times. The breaking ball is big and needs some more fastball to it, touched 70 mph. The changeup was 74 mph and has good action to it. High level arm, who with innings and maturation, should only get better.
College Outlook: Fits the starter role in college, as he can throw three pitches and can handle the running game out of the stretch. Cleaning up his secondary stuff will be key to his success.
