Look, we all have heard the stories about how "Johnny Playball" was scouted from his sophomore year on, took multiple college visits, gave a verbal early in his junior year and at 12:01-am on signing day he signed with his dream program surrounded by his supportive family, coaches and teachers. Is this ideal? Would a package of academic and athletic money put together make for a nice way to help pay for college? Of course. Absolutely. Is this the norm? Not really...when there are thousands upon thousands of players perusing the game at the next-level, things happen, the course changes, it always doesn't work out the way you would had planned.
