Ohio Crossroads Select Baseball Series: Top Performers

The Top Position Players

Alec Debruler, OF, Moeller, 2016

Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 195-pound strong, athletic build. From the outfield he approaches the ball with good footwork, but could work use more of a crow hop to help increase velocity on his throws. He throws from a ¾ arm slot, reaching a top velocity of 79 mph from the outfield. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance getting back to being squared up to even. He uses a fluid hands back load and swings with a flat bat path through the zone. Finishes his swing with a one-handed follow through. He showed the ability to use both parts of the field with strength and line drive production during his round of batting practice. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash.

The Top Arms

Andrew Magno, LHP/1B, Dublin Scioto, 2016

Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pound skinny, projectable frame with lots of room to fill out with. He throws exclusively from the stretch in a delivery that requires regular effort. He uses simple mechanics and a straight up and down leg lift, landing in a straight line at foot strike. He throws using quick arm speed coming from an over the top slot. His fastball was consistently at 83-84 mph. Curveball was between 71-73 mph with signs of being sharp at times at a 12/6 plane. His slider was tighter and had cutting action to it at 74-76 mph. Also flashed a changeup using fastball arm speed at 73 mph.
