On The Recruiting Trail: Alex Brinkman, RHP, Anna, 2016
Name: Alex Brinkman

Height/Weight: 6-foot-3, 200 pounds
High School: Anna
Ranking: 35th in Ohio’s 2016 Class
Evaluation: Good 6-foot-3, 200-pound solid, athletic pitcher’s frame. From the mound his delivery requires some effort. He throws with a full, hands over the head wind up getting some torque and load from his hips. He lands on his heel finishing towards first-base side with his follow through. He throws from a higher ¾ slot using just above average arm speed. We saw him hit a new high number in velocity with his fastball on this occasion, he was between 87-89 mph. His curveball was thrown at 71-72 mph with 11/5 tilt and showed good sharp, late break at times. The curveball definitely shows promise but needs to stay on top and continue to repeat that release point.
