Recruiting Essentials Q and A: Multi-Year Scholarships, Two-Way Players and More

We appreciate all of the email we receive from players and parents on the topic of college baseball recruiting. Below are some of the questions we have received and answered over the last two weeks:

I’m curious to know what you think about being pitcher and hitter in college. My son is being recruited by some large schools to do both but he considers himself more of an outfielder than pitcher.

I would quiz the coaches that are recruiting him as to what position they think he’s mostly likely to contribute at to get a clearer picture.  At the major college level it seems like for every ten kids that are recruited as two-way players only one actually ends up doing it successfully (a ballpark ratio).  You will see players listed as both on rosters but when you check the stats its likely they are doing only one.
