The Buzz: Hudson Likely To Draw Attention This Weekend

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Labor Day signals the end of the summer season and Prep Baseball Report’s Labor Day Challenge will take place Saturday and Sunday. There will be plenty of talent in attendance, but LHP Bryan Hudson (Alton HS, IL) is arguably the main attraction. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound senior has been tough for colleges and scouts to track down this summer and he will pitch for Team Southern Illinois. At the Metro East Open in June, Hudson sat at 86-89 mph high three-quarter arm slot and paired his fastball with a short-breaking slider at 71-76. Still uncommitted, he figures to have a lot of eyes on him this weekend.

Here are some other highlights from the world of recruiting…

+ RHP Dalton Laney (Rockville HS, IN) is visiting Ball State next week and plans on visiting Notre Dame in the near future. He is also looking into making a visit to Oklahoma. Laney sat 82-86 at the Future Games with a tight curveball at 74-76.
