The Hotlist: Top Super 60 Performances

By Nathan Rode

If you need any evidence that the 2016 Super 60 was loaded with talent, look no further than the 100-plus scouts that were there to get a look at the players. There were a ton of good performances and it’s difficult to select a standard top 10 list. The latest Hotlist is attempt to do so. Listed alphabetically below are prospects that were among the top performers and should continue to be high follows throughout the spring as we get closer to the draft in June.

Cal Coughlin, RHP, Lake Forest HS, IL
A well-known two-way player in the Midwest, Coughlin stuck to the mound Sunday and was amongst the best in terms of fastball velocity. He came out firing, popping 94 mph on his first pitch and sat 90-92 throughout his session. He has a mature frame, standing at a solid 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and pitches with a bit of effort with a high-3/4 slot. His best secondary pitch is a cutter that sits 84-87 with short, darting break. He also mixed in a curveball with loopy action at 69-73 and a changeup 77-79. Coughlin is committed to Texas Christian.
