The Michigan Big Board: Top Uncommitted Class of 2016 Right-Handed Pitchers

The 2016 class for the state of Michigan is loaded with talent from top to bottom at all positions, and that is especially evident at the right-handed pitching position. There are already three talented pitchers already off the board in the number one, three and sixth overall prospects in Michigan's 2016 rankings. Karl Kauffmann (Michigan) is ranked 21st overall at Prep Baseball Report as he sits 86-87 mph with an easy arm action. Michael Mokma (Michigan State) with a big 6-foot-5 frame is ranked 44th overall while touching 87 mph. Jack Weisenburger (Michigan) consistantly sits in the upper-80s and is ranked 67th overall. Below we would like to highlight ten talented right-handers.

Top Uncommitted 2016 Right-handed pitchers
Mason Erla, RHP/3B, Cass City HS, 2016
Ranked: 7th in Michigan, 89th overall
Background: 6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect and a member of 2014 Future Games. High-¾ arm slot with good body control. Keeps fastball down in zone at 87-88 mph.Curveball was 71-72, and changeup at 79-80 mph. At third base, showed soft hands and good length in range. Strong arm across the infield at 85 mph. Ran a 4.37 home to first. Gets good leverage at the plate with his swing, lower half connects well through swing. Bat speed registered at 90 mph. Mason is hot prospect for many schools from all over the country including the Big Ten, MAC, Horizon League, ACC, Big East, Ivy League, MVC, Patriot League, OVC, and GLIAC.
