Updated 2017 Rankings Bring Newcomers

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The 2017 Overall Rankings were updated this week and expanded to a list of 100 players. The expansion and natural development of the class led to some new names being included. Below are 10 players, listed in order of their overall rank, that found themselves included in the latest update.

Jake Hausmann, RHP/1B, Christian Brothers College HS, MO
Hausmann is a wide-shouldered, 6-foot-5, 190-pound two-way prospect. He sits 85-87 mph with his fastball, touching 89, and works from a high-3/4 slot with a quick arm, rhythm and some effort. His curveball has 11/5 shape with late break and sits 69-71. He also shows feel for a developing changeup at 79-81. At the plate, he makes consistent contact with up-the-middle approach, driving the ball to both gaps. He takes a short stride with a smooth load and no wasted movement. His swing is level through extension. He is currently uncommitted and ranked seventh.
