Prep Baseball Report

Welcome To PBR Oklahoma

With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma. Our mission in Oklahoma mirrors that of other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state scouting information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately help Oklahoma prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the year-round No. 1 resource for prep baseball in Oklahoma.

Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 32 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly cover Oklahoma:

Andy Urban.

Prior to becoming the Prep Baseball Report’s Oklahoma Scouting Director, Urban served as an assistant coach at Central Missouri University, where he helped lead the Mules to a fourth-place finish at the Division 2 World Series in 2016. Urban also pitched at Central Missouri, earning first-team All-Conference as a closer.

Urban’s playing career was one many current and former players can relate to. As an undersized right-handed pitcher, he flew under the radar despite leading his high school team to the Kansas state championship in 2009. Urban went to Hutchinson CC in Kansas, where he helped lead the team to a third-place finish at the Junior College World Series in 2010. He finished his decorated career at Hutchinson CC second all-time in career ERA (1.37), second all-time in single-season ERA (1.12), third most complete-game shutouts.

From Hutchinson CC, Urban earned a scholarship to Creighton University before transferring to Central Missouri, where he also earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. After college, Urban pitched two years in the Frontier League for the River City Rascals.

Now Urban will bring his baseball successes and passion for scouting to Oklahoma’s prep baseball scene. Urban will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Oklahoma has ever seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

Oklahoma-specific events will begin later this fall. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure from college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players’ profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.

Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 11 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive coverage in every state we are in. More than 750 colleges and pro scouts now subscribe to the Prep Baseball Report multimedia services.

Now, we are thrilled to be your No. 1 source of high school baseball in Oklahoma.
