Most Viewed Player Profiles of 2014: No. 5 Brent Richey

By Doug Hall
Tennessee Director of Scouting

As you well know, PBR Tennessee began operations in 2014, and we felt it would be interesting to take a look at the ten most viewed Tennessee player profiles on the PBR website since we began operations.

Though we began scouting games and providing information on players in the late spring and early summer, we didn't run our first event in the state until August 24. Therefore, as we look at the ten most viewed profiles from 2014, it will only include profile views from August 24 to now.

no. 5 brent richeyrichey

Richey, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound OF/RHP from Knoxville Christian emerged as one of the top prospects in attendance at our Fall Top Prospect Games event at Lipscomb University on November 1.  He showed two-way ability that earned him a spot at No. 25 when we released our initial Class of 2016 rankings earlier this month.  Richey showed the strongest arm from the outfield at the event with a top velocity of 87 mph.  In addition he showed some speed in getting down the line in 4.52-seconds. He hits from a balanced setup and gets good involvement from his lower half in showing some power to his pull-side.  In addition, he showed good bat speed in registering an 85 mph exit velocity off the tee.

On the mound, Richey's fastball sat 81-84 mph touching 85 on one occasion with some arm-side run and sink that produces ground ball outs.  His breaking ball showed tight spin with more lateral action at 71-74 mph.
