Devin Symlar, OF, Columbia Central HS, 2016

At 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, Symlar shows natural athleticism in his game.  With a compact, athletic frame Symlar still has room to fill out and gain strength.  He shows good instincts in the outfield and displays accurate throws to go along with an arm velocity of 78 mph.

Offensively, the right-handed hitter hits from a balanced, slight crouch setup and utilizes a short stride.  He shows good extension in his swing with a line drive approach while displaying the ability to hit to all parts of the field.  Symlar showed some speed in getting down the line in 4.51 seconds and went 1-for-4 with a line drive single to right field in game play at the Fall Top Prospect Games event on November 1.

With his skill set, the 2015 season should see Symlar being a big contributor to the Columbia Central Lions baseball program.
