Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Community HS C/3B Austin Cagle

In Unionville, about 50 miles south of Nashville, Community High School Head Baseball Coach Robbie Davis has an unsigned senior that he thinks colleges need to know about.

Austin Cagle is a 6-foot , 195-pound, right-handed hitting C/3B who helped lead Community to its first Class A State Tournament appearance in school history last spring.

“Austin had a great year at the plate and in the field for us,” Davis stated.  “He hit .342 with 2 home runs during the regular season, and hit over .400 during the post-season.  He also went 2-2 on the mound with a 2.56 ERA.”

Defensively, Davis says Cagle’s biggest contributions came from behind the plate.

“Austin threw out 17 runners during the course of the season,” Davis stated. “He is growing both physically and in his mental approach to the game.  There is no question he was one of the main reasons we reached the State Tournament last year.”

Look for Cagle to once again be a key contributor as Community attempts to make back-to-back State Tournament appearances this spring.
