Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Rhea County 2015 OF Jordan Day

By Doug Hall
Tennessee Director of Scoutingday

Jordan Day, R/R, OF, Rhea County HS, 2015

Day is a 5-foot-10, 150 pound prospect with an athletic build who posted the top 60-yard dash time of 6.93 at the East Tennessee Prospects Showcase held at Roane State on September 21.

Defensively, Day throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and was accurate on throws to the third base bag with 80 mph arm strength with some carry. He showed athletic movements in the field and plays through the ball with fluid footwork and a clean exchange.

Offensively, Day starts from a slight crouch and tends to drop hands with a slight arm bar in his load.  He uses a short stride to the ball and tends to get over his lower half.  He showed a slight uphill swing path and made line drive contact when he squared the baseball.

Day’s combination of speed and athleticism make him an interesting prospect. Continued development of his offensive game should increase his chances of playing at the next level.
