Each week, PBR Texas will be showcasing players that had stellar performances from across the state. The talent level in Texas is second-to-none, and our Scouting Staff is covering games and evaluating players on a daily basis. Here is a list of players that had stellar performances in the first round of the playoffs.


 

Reed Spenrath 1B / OF / El Campo, TX / 2018

6-10, 3B, 2B, 5 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB. On the mound, Spenrath went 5 Innings, 4 H, 7 K, 2 BB. Won 2 extra-inning games to move on to the second round vs. Boerne.

 

Gray Rodgers RHP / OF / Pearce, TX / 2017

3-8, 2B, 3 RBI, 3 Runs, 4 walks, 1.083 OPS, .583 OBP
Pitching: 8 IP, 2 Wins, 4 H, 1 R, 12 K. After losing game 1 Gray pitched game 2 and had a complete game and 11 strikeouts giving up 1 run.  He came in game 3 with runners on 2nd and 3rd and tying run at plate and zero outs. He got out of the jam and got the win and Bi-District Champs.

 

Ryan Bogusz OF / RHP / Lone Star, TX / 2019

Ryan batted .429 in the two playoff games and pitched a shutout against #11 McKinney North in Game 2 with an impressive 3 hits, 4 strikeouts and 0 walks. He got us out of the seventh inning with a runner on third to maintain our 1 - 0 lead to win the game. Pitching on Saturday: (W) 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 4 K. Batting: 3-8, 2B, RBI, BB. Ryan's total batting average for 32 games to date is .324 with 34 hits, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 19 RBIs and 16 runs. He has pitched 17 innings in 10 games with a 3-0 record. Has has a total ERA of 1.324 with 22 strikeouts.

 

 

Mak Sexton RHP / C / Cedar Park, TX / 2018

Sexton earned both a Win and a Save. Posting 8 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K.

 

Chandler Jozwiak LHP / Brenham, TX / 2017

Perfect Game 1 W, 1 SV, 11 K, 0 BB, .000 ERA

.566 AVG, 5 H, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, 3 BB, .889 SLG,  

 

Tyson Garrison SS / Kerens School, TX / 2018

.625 (5-8), 2B, 3B, HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, Hit for the Cycle in Game 1, Stole Home Game 2

James Burchett LHP / OF / Kirbyville, TX / 2019

Pitched 8 inning complete game against Altair Rice in the first game of the playoffs.  Had 16 strikeouts in 2-1 win.  Led off  the bottom of the 7th with a double and scored the tying run to send game into extra innings.

 

 

Frainyer Chavez SS / Little Elm, TX / 2017

.429 in the playoffs- finished the season with a 15 game hit streak. Collecting multiple hits in 10 of the 15 games raising his BA to .438 on the season.

J.J. Kruzel RHP / Little Em, TX / 2017

6.1 IP 5 h 0 ER lowering his era on the season to 1.362 with a 71/15 K/BB ratio.
