Friendswood, TX - Senior right-hander Brian Dawson kept the Friendswood Mustangs off balance for five innings, striking out eight, while only giving up one earned run on three hits.

The Gators’ offense battled senior left-hander Rylan Kaufman (San Jacinto JC recruit) from the very first pitch. Dickinson was led at the plate by Steven Monarres (1-for-3 with a home run), Kam Johnson (2-for-4), and junior first baseman Evaristo Nunez (3-for-4).

Friendswood had an opportunity to get back in the game when they loaded the bases on three hit-batters and a single, but Dawson would answer the bell by striking out the side.

Sophomore shortstop Marcus Huerta was the lone bright spot offensively for Friendswood.  He finished the day 2-for-3 and played a solid shortstop. Dickinson finished the game with 11 runs on 11 hits, with the outcome being an 11-2 Dickinson victory.
