MADISONVILLE, TX - Brenham HS and Whitehouse HS met at a neutral site in Madisonville, TX to play a one game playoff on Friday night. The game was a classic duel between two seniors, right-hander Patrick Miner from Whitehouse and left-hander Chandler Jozwiak from Brenham. Both starters threw a seven inning complete game, but it was Jozwiak and Brenham that came away with the 1-0 win to move on to the third round of the Texas High School Playoffs.

In the top of the third inning, 2017 1B Zach Marshall hit a solo home run to dead centerfield to put Brenham up 1-0. That would be the only run that Whitehouse starter Patrick Miner would allow. The Arkansas Tech recruit stranded seven Brenham base runners while posting ten strikeouts.

2017 OF Mason House was the leading hitter for Whitehouse, going 2-for-3 with two singles. House, a recent Oklahoma State commit, is ranked No. 37 in the most recent PBR Draft 100.

But the story of the night was Brenham’s 2017 LHP Chandler Jozwiak. Jozwiak put together a stellar shutout performance, allowing only five hits, one walk, and posting six strikeouts. The San Jacinto JC recruit also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Final Score, Brenham 1, Whitehouse 0.

Brenham will meet Rouse High School in the third round of the Texas High School Playoffs.
