KELLER, TX - Senior left-hander Tyler Thomas would take the mound for the Keller Indians on Friday night in the first varsity district start of his career. Thomas, a Baylor recruit, would work five innings, allowing one run on only two hits and two walks, striking out nine Weatherford batters. Sophomore left-hander Will Johnston, a Texas A&M recruit, would work a scoreless sixth and seventh in relief, earning the win for Keller. The left-handed duo would combine for eleven punch-outs, allowing only three hits, one run, and two walks.

Trailing 1-0 to Weatherford in the bottom of seventh inning, Keller would lead off with a double from second baseman Ben Johnson. Several pitches later, junior Kyle Rich, a Dallas Baptist recruit, would single home Johnson on a laser-shot up the middle to tie the game at 1. After another single by sophomore third baseman Reid Rice, Keller would have runners on first and second with no-outs. Left-handed pinch hitter Kevin Simpson would then deliver the Indians a walk-off 2-1 victory on single to left field, bringing home Rich.

For Weatherford, junior left-hander Blake Burrows, a Kansas State recruit, would work 4.1 innings, allowing no runs on two hits and one walk, while striking out four. Weatherford got their lone run off the bat of senior shortstop Nick Rodriguez, who hit a sacrifice fly to right field in the third inning to score Burrows. Rodriguez would finish the day 1-for-2 with an RBI. Weatherford sophomore first baseman, Lukas Loran would add two hits of his own, both off Keller starter Tyler Thomas.
