DALLAS, TX - Rockwall Heath HS and Dallas Jesuit met in the second round of the Texas High School Playoffs on Thursday night. Leading the Hawks on the mound was 2018 LHP Kaden Krowka. The Oklahoma State recruit struck out five, allowed only one run and four hits over seven innings.

Rockwall-Heath an opportunity to get on the board in the fourth inning, but Jesuit starter Heath Vankirk, worked out of a bases loaded jam. In the top of the fifth, the Hawks loaded the bases again, and scored on a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice ground ball from Cole Stilwell. Hawks up 2-0.

Jesuit cut the lead in half in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Santa Clara recruit. Mark Ready. Rockwall Heath added four very important insurance runs in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded and no outs, Cole Stilwell laced a ground ball in the six hole to score two runs. Josh Thurman followed with a two RBI-double to right field. After a long offensive inning, it was unclear if Heath starting pitcher Kaden Krowka would come back to the mound for the last three outs. With the bullpen up and playing catch, Krowka finished the game for Heath, punching out the last batter he faced. Final score, Rockwall Heath 6, Jesuit 1.

NOTES: Although 2017 Canaan Smith did not record a hit in the contest, he was walked three times (twice intentionally) and scored a run.
