The Virginia/DC Preseason All State was held on Saturday, February 11th at Tuckahoe Sports Inc in Henrico, VA. 40 athletes from across the state were in attendance and performed in front of the PBR scouting staff. We began the evaluations process with our Stats Story and Rapid Reaction. Today we begin our player analysis from the event with our Corner Infielder Analysis. A very talented a deep group as a whole with plenty of offensive talent and players to watch.

Top Performers

Michael Ludowig OF Briar Woods 2017 (Wake Forest) 
Ludowig is 6-1 and hits from left side from an open balanced athletic stance. Leg kick stride, smooth load back with good rhythm, explosive hips and good balance throughout swing. Short to ball, level swing with extension through it, line drive swing with power potential, showed good approach working middle of the field, exit velocity was 102. In the outfield, gets behind the ball well, above average hands, plays through the ball to a quick clean exchange. Throws from a three-quarters slot with a loose, quick arm, outfield velocity was 87. Home to first was 4.2.

Joshua Dawson SS/OF Amelia County 2017
Dawson is 5-11 with a lankier athletic frame, hits from the right side from an upright open stance. Strides on line and smooth load back with some wrap, good hip rotation and some balance during swing. Pull approach at the plate, working uphill through the ball with good extension, will have some power to pull side, exit velocity was 87. In the outfield, gets behind the ball, has average hands, clean exchange. Short, lightning quick arm action, high three-quarters arm slot, position velocity of 91.

Zachary Bochenek OF Chancellor 2018
Bochenek is 5-11 with an athletic frame and strong lower half. Hits from the right side from a crouched open stance, strides on line and loads back, some hips and keeps some balance throughout swing. Level line drive swing, showed good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity of 78. In outfield, got behind ball, average hands, clean exchange, short arm action from high three-quarters arm slot, outfield velocity of 70. Home to first time was 4.32.

Stephen Strout RHP/OF Woodside 2018
Strout is 5-10 with an athletic frame, at the plate, hits from the left side from an open athletic stance, short stride closed and load back to arm bar. Weight shifts during swing, generates some hip rotation and has some balance. Swing works uphill, has a pull approach with some power potential, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets behind ball and plays through it, average hands and a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, outfield velocity was 82. Ran a 4.14 home to first.

Donovan Wigfall OF/RHP Clover Hill 2019
Wigfall is 5-8 with an athletic frame, hit from the right side from an athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load down and back. Some hip explosion and balance during swing. Level line drive swing, showed good approach using middle of field, exit velocity was 71. In the outfield, got behind the ball, fielded with average hands. Gains ground on exchange, throws from low three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 64. Ran a 4.39 home to first.

Parker Wilburn C/OF Trinity Episcopal 2018
Wilburn is 6-1 with an athletic frame, hits from the right side from an open athletic stance. Short stride on line, smooth load back with slight wrap, good hips and balance throughout swing. Swing works uphill with extension, showed a pull approach and some power potential, exit velocity was 90. In the outfield, gets behind the ball well and fields with average hands. Clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a longer arm action, outfield velocity was 74.
