Over the next week we are going to countdown the 2014 calendar year with a look at the top ten viewed player profiles of 2014. After drilling down into our Google Analytics we have compiled a list of the ten most visited profiles by you the reader in 2014.

Coming in at No. 9 on our list of most viewed profiles is Millbrook High School’s Alex Amos. Amos is a 5-foot-10, 165 pound RHP/SS who is committed to play at the University of Pittsburgh.

On the mound, Amos throws over the top and has a quick arm that generates easy velocity. He has a smooth rhythm and very clean, simple mechanics. Amos’ fastball sat 84-86 mph on the day and touched 87 moh. He showed the ability to cut it and sink it late. Amos threw and outstanding overhand curveball with sharp downward break and full armspeed (73-76 mph). He also showed a good change-up that sat 78 mph with late sinking action. Overall, Amos’ command of all three pitches was outstanding from the wind-up.

At the plate, hits from a balanced athletic stance with high hands. Has a smooth load back and a leg kick.  Explosive lower half, with quick hands, short swing, and gets extensions. Leverage in swing, creates backspin, drives ball. Has an exit velocity of 90 mph off of the tee.

In the field, has good feet, soft hands, and a slightly above average arm with 83 mph position and velocity. Smooth actions, plays through the baseball and has clean exchanges.
