Coming in at No. 10 on our list of most viewed profiles is Menchville High School’s Jaret West. West is a 5-foot-9, 155 pound LHP/1B who looks to have a big year on the mound and at the plate.

JARET WEST Scouting Report

No. 10:  Jaret West, 5-foot-9, 155 pound, LHP/1B, 2016

On the mound, West throws from a three-quarters slot and has a very smooth delivery that is on line. He does a good job of getting out over his front leg and reaching an athletic finish to his delivery. West’s fastball sat 75-77 mph, reached 78 mph, and had some late running action to it. He threw a good, late breaking 2/8 slider that ran 64-66 mph. West also threw a sinking change-up that ran from 70-72 mph. He commanded all three pitches extremely well.

At the plate, West had a balanced set up with high hands.  He had a very quiet rhythm and a short stride.  From that set up, he created above average bat speed (82 mph exit velocity).  Showed the ability to spray line drives around the field.

In the field, West was fundamentally sound with soft hands and an average release. He stayed low to the ground at all times and moved well laterally.
