Nate Eikhoff Scouting Report

No. 6:  Nate Eikhoff 6-foot, 185 pound, SS, 2015 (Univ. of Virginia)

The Virginia commit is an athletic position player that has outstanding hands at the plate and in the field. Eikhoff has the ability to hit for a high average, spraying line drives the other way and up the gaps from his left-handed stance. He has the bat speed to develop significant power as he fills out and begins to turn on balls.

Report from the Northern VA Prospect ID:  Left-handed hitting middle infielder hit from a slightly open stance.  He used a quiet load to achieve separation and had a fluid path to the ball.  On the day, Eikhoff showed "Elite Bat Speed" with an exit velocity of 90 mph.  He showed gap-to-gap power in the round of batting practice with a short, smooth stroke.  In the field, showed outstanding athleticism, quickness, and plus actions.  He used his feet to approach and work through the baseball, while staying under control.  Eikhoff was also impressive during the 60 yard dash, where he was clocked at a 6.97.
