Scouting Report

8.7.17:  Estridge is 6-6 with a lankier athletic frame, he hits from the left side from an open athletic stance. Short stride on line, short load back. Some hip explosion and good balance to swing. Short to ball, works uphill with a pull preference, exit velocity was 90. At first, fields with a wider base and average hands. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 80.

5.22.16:  Estridge stands a lanky 6-5. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Long, loose arm action that generates velocity with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and closed as he strides on line to a square, athletic finish. Fastball was 78-81 with slight run to it. 10/4 slider with decent armspeed that he threw for strikes at 61-63. Change-up had some fade and good armspeed, thrown for strikes at 71.

1.18.16: Estridge stands a lanky 6-5 and throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot. He has a loose arm action and showed good feel for his fastball and change-up, sitting 78-79 with his fastball and 70-71 with his change-up, which was thrown with good armspeed.

2.15.15 Estridge is very tall and has an extremely lanky frame. He throws from a three-quarters slot and has a clean, quick arm action. His hips are already open at footstrike, but his shoulders are on line and uphill. He finishes in an athletic position. Estridge’s fastball sat 74-75 mph, topping out at 76 mph and has heavy sinking action to it. He threw a curveball that had 11/5 break that ran 63-67 mph and a fading change-up that ran 68-70 mph. Estridge had good command of his change and fastball, but he was erratic with his curveball.
