A Look At Wisconsin's Impact On The 2017 Overall Rankings

The 2017 class has undergone another rankings update and this time expanded to the top 100. 23 of the top 100 sophomores in the updated and expanded overall rankings are already verbally committed, with several more sitting on offers. Including one Wisconsin prospect, Anthony Schlass (West Bend West), who is committed to Oklahoma.
The landscape of the updated overall Class of 2017 player rankings have changed dramatically, chiefly because the landscape of the Prep Baseball Report state-specific coverage area has expanded since the last update. The updated Top 100 2017 rankings now includes Tennessee, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa and Massachusetts, in addition to our long-established states. Making 20 states represented in the 2017 overall rankings.
Wisconsin’s 2017 class might not stack up quite to what we’ve seen in the 2015 and 2016 classes but none the less was well represented in the 2017 overall rankings. Wisconsin tied for 10th with the most players from a state, three of which are in the top 50.
LHP Ben Dragani (Catholic Memorial) is the only returner to the overall rankings. Dragani made the initial 2017 overall rankings at No. 24. With our expanded coverage area and depth, Anthony Schlass (West Bend West), Jacob Lindemann (Burlington), Austin Mihlbauer (Mukwonago) and Jamie DeWitt (Waukesha South) all made the top 100.
