Luke Schafer getting Division 1 looks

Luke Schafer is a highly athletic three-sport athlete at Middleton HS. He is a 6-foot, 175-pound infielder who has a physical frame with strong potential. Currently ranked No. 44 in the state, Schafer is coming off of a successful junior season.

The Middleton Cardinals (16-6) fell short in the sectional finals, but Schafer himself put up solid numbers. According to Schafer he hit .387 and stole 16 bases in 16 attempts.Luke Schafer

Schafer has been getting added attention this summer, garnering interest from “University of Iowa, University of Illinois, Indiana State, South Dakota State, Bradley”, said Schafer.

Out of the five schools he has received interest from Schafer said,

“I have taken unofficial visits to University of Iowa, South Dakota State, and Indiana State.”

Schafer also said, “I’m looking for a school with a high focus on academics and a solid business program.”

After talking with Schafer its apparent that he takes his academic seriously. According to him he posted a 28 on his ACT and carries a robust 3.88 GPA.

Schafer is looking forward to his senior year in hopes of taking Middleton to the 2014 State Tournament.

“My goals for my senior season are to be an all-state player and lead my team on a state tournament run”, said Schafer.
