PBR Future Games Preview: RHP Ryan Schmitt

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is a one-of-a-kind event featuring the top 2016 prospects from across our 10 state coverage area. This year taking place at Grand Park in Westfield, IN from July 31-August 2, hundreds of scouts from across the country will fill the stands to watch some of the top uncommitted 2016 prospects across our coverage area.

Last year Wisconsin’s Class of 2015 Future Games Team went undefeated and has already seen eight Division 1 commitments from that roster. Over the next several weeks we will begin to unveil prospects who have been selected to participate in this year's event with a brief history and bio of the player and what we can expect from him at the PBR Future Games.

Ryan Schmitt is a dynamic RHP from Arrowhead high school who will showcase one of the quicker arms and aggressive breaking balls at the event. Schmitt is part of a pair of Arrowhead prospects at this year’s Future Games, following last year’s Arrowhead RHP Jack Bredeson who recently committed to the University of Michigan.

Schmitt will bring a moxy and competitiveness to the mound, his fastball sits in the 85-87 mph range and works quickly and loosely. He throws his curveball with conviction and appears to have a high level of confidence in it. At 72-73 mph it works on an 11/5 plane with tight spin.

Look for Schmitt to work quickly and pound the zone at this year’s Future Games and should garner plenty of attention from college coaches.
