No. 18 Stevens Point

2014 Record: 26-3
WIAA Classification: 1
Conference:
Wisconsin Valley
Head Coach:
Kraig Terpstra
2014 Playoff Run:
Sectional Champions

TOP PLAYERS

Andrew Ruzek, OF, 2015 (Wisconsin - football)
Alex Lee, RHP, 2015 (Wabash Valley JC)
Noel Winch, RHP, 2015 (Winona State - football)

KEY LOSSES

The Panthers lost a ton to graduation and this may be a rebuilding year for SPASH. The 2014 Sectional Champs lost 18 wins on the mound between the duo of Austin Shulfer (8-0) and Cal Giese (10-1). That’s a big whole to fill and might be tough to do in 2015, but if anyone can do it, it’s one of the biggest high schools in the state.

OUTLOOK

Stevens Point will have to replace a lot of innings on the mound and impactful at bats in the lineup. Andrew Ruzek, is the only returning senior with significant playing time in 2014. Ruzek is returning off of a first team all-conference season where he hit over .350 with three home runs while starting every games. After Ruzek the most experience comes from Trevor Anderson who started 13 games on the infield last year. The Panthers will again be senior heavy, the only problem is those seniors didn’t see much action last year. Despite the losses SPASH should be atop the Wisconsin Valley again is 2015 and have enough to make a playoff run.
