Recruiting News: Three more seniors make college decisions

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has always been one of the top Division III programs in the country and consistently puts together winning seasons year after year. With two returning All-Americans the 2013 season looks bright again for the Warhawks.

With all their past success it’s easy to see why talented recruits would want to be a part of Coach Vodenlich’s program.

Three more ranked players in the Class of 2013 have made commitments and all three are headed to Whitewater.

Will Helbing (Waunakee HS), a physical outfielder who shows excellent foot speed was at our most recent Prospect Identification Showcase in Racine, WI. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left handed hitter showcased well and has a promising future as a powerful left handed hitter.

Helbing had this to say about his commitment to the Warhawks, "I think the whole package was really what helped my decision. I think Whitewater is the top collegiate program in Wisconsin, with their great coaching staff, history in the NCAA tournament, and their facilities, it made it a great fit. Also, their business school is well known around the nation, which is going to be my field of study. I am very excited to be a Warhawk!"

The Warhawks also landed catcher Hayden Fenner (Ripon HS) and infielder Cal Jacklin (Kettle Moraine Lutheran HS).

Fenner is an athletic catcher who shows a high ability to catch and throw, hitting from the left side of the plate also makes Fenner a big asset for the Warhawks.

Cal Jacklin is an athletically built 6-foot-3, 190-pound shortstop who has a very projectable frame. Defensively, Jacklin shows the ability to play multiple positions on the infield with a playable arm from all over the field.

With these three talented prospects coming down the pipeline for the Warhawks the future in Whitewater should bring continued success.
